Tracking Livestock Health with CLiC-Hub

Livestock is more than just property in many African communities — it’s a livelihood, a savings account, and a source of resilience. But disease outbreaks, poor tracking systems, and limited veterinary access often threaten that stability.

To bridge this gap, Data Aid developed CLiC-Hub, a digital platform that enables real-time livestock monitoring and alerts. Built for contexts with limited connectivity, CLiC-Hub empowers herders to log animal health data, track births, and report symptoms using mobile devices, even offline.

To date, 12+ communities across Nigeria are using CLiC-Hub to safeguard their herds. By flagging disease symptoms early, the system enables timely response and prevents spread — protecting both animals and livelihoods.

CLiC-Hub also strengthens community trust by offering a shared data platform for livestock and veterinary authorities. It’s not just a logbook — it’s a tool for accountability and peace of mind.

One herder shared:

"Before CLiC-Hub, if my animals got sick, I didn’t know who to tell until it was too late. Now, I get alerts — and I feel less alone."

By combining local voices with smart, accessible technology, CLiC-Hub is transforming fragile livestock systems into resilient ones.
